Samir is an eighteen year-old volunteer for the Red Cross of Nicaragua. Samir has been volunteering for the Red Cross since he was 9 years old, and has been volunteering as a lifeguard since he was 15. This past Spring, Samir was involved in one of ISLA lifeguard courses to help strengthen his knowledge of guarding and of the ocean.
Samir hopes to continue to help out the people in and around his community by guarding the beaches near his home in Leon. He also hopes to one day be an airline pilot. Check out this short clip of Samir talking about his experience as a lifeguard and of his recent training course experience as well. We hope to continue to be in touch with Samir and find ways to support his efforts towards saving lives.
